NJStangers May 2012 Driver’s Spotlight is on: JohnnyGunz!
JohnnyGunz – NJStangers May 2012 Driver’s Spotlight!
Very popular NJStanger member JohnnyGunz started out in the club with a Mustang, but now has a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Model that he calls Boom!!
This Titanium Silver beauty has several modifications including an Eaton M90 Supercharger, 22″ rims, Addco sway bars, custom sound system with backup camera, navigation, XM radio, EBC brakes, KYB shocks and struts, S&B intake, smoked headlights, smoked corners, custom tail lights, HID’s in the headlights and fog lights.
Plans to lower the truck and possibly get 24″ or 26″ rims may be in Boom’s future.
Looking online for a New Jersey based Mustang Club, JohnnyG spotted NJStangers and quickly joined up. Selling his Mustang awhile later was rather difficult, but the need for a truck became more apparent and now it’s turned into something that he can’t live without. Winning his first place trophy at the Butler Blue Oval Car Show this April was even more exciting as not only was this his first trophy ever, it was JohnnyG’s first ever car show with Boom.
It’s no surprise that this Brooklyn, NY native is a die hard Yankees fan who also enjoys physical fitness and music. Working as a police officer during the day and DJ’ing different nights and most weekends at various clubs in the area keep him pretty busy. Nicknamed “Turbo” by his family and “Gunz” by his friends, no matter what you call him, just don’t ask him to go on a rollercoaster at the amusement park as he’s deathly afraid of them. Having a wonderful sister and a nephew that he adores, his nephew vows to be a Ford guy just like his Uncle Turbo one day. Maybe Uncle Turbo can bring his nephew to some of the summer meets and barbeques this year as those are some of the best parts of being an NJStanger member according to JohnnyG! Cruises are also a big part of the fun as he fondly remembers the first one he went on. “Janice yelled at me for driving so fast that it made Jonathan drive even faster to keep up! That was the best!” says JohnnyG.
In closing JohnnyG says “I’d like to thank Rob at Rob’s Performance for all the time he’s put in and hard work he’s done for me. I’d also like to thank everyone I’ve met at NJStangers for always keeping it real and appreciating what I try to do.”

With the uncertainty of “online dating”, we decided to meet for the first time outside the Big Fish, a bar inside the Market Fair Plaza in Princeton. After the nervous introductions and believing that neither one of us were serial killers, we decided to go to the movie “Hell Boy” (What a romantic couple we were).
